Happy New Year...!!

Hello there fellow Type Ones!!

It's officially 2014, and I hope everyone celebrated with style. Another year full of opportunities, another year to fund raise, another year hoping that there will one day be a cure. BUT you never know...2014 might be our year.

This year my goals are:

  • Keep on top of my diabetes (in general)
  • TRY my hardest not to be in double figures as often >.<
  • Keep my A1c's respectable :') !
  • Look after my health, eg. doing more exercise (helps with my levels as well. Killing two birds with one stone!)
  • Do more fundraising for JDRF! and maybe get my school involved?
  • POST MORE!!!!!
What are your hopes and ambitions for 2014? I hope that you have all started this new year off with a bang!!

Year 10 & GCSE's

Hey there followers c:

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, AGAIN! But been pretty busy with the whole going back to school, getting back into a routine PLUS starting Year 10 which has been pretty stressful and it still amazes me how I'm actually in Year 10.

Anyway, the first week back at school went ok except from the coming home in low figures, but I put that down to stress and my second week at school has been ok, a couple of low numbers but nothing terrible which is good. How have your levels been going back to School/College?

*Sorry for the short post!*

Long time no post...!

Hey there strangers,

Sorry I haven't posted in quite a long time!! But I'm going to give you an update to keep you up to speed with my life with Diabetes:

Hba1c number 4:

So my Hba1c was 6.1 :) I was proud seeing as my levels have been quite high in the 3 months prior to my Hba1c. I have also lost weight (Which I am hugely happy about.) But the weird thing was...I have shrunk?! Haha I have no clue how, but yup I've shrunk, only by 2mm but still! So overall I had a good time at the clinic, well as good as clinic can be! But the only downer is that whist I was at clinic my consultant booked me in for my annual bloods on the 27th of November . _ . the same day as my next Hba1c..ooohh the stress!! At least I can get it all out of the way in one go. I'll probably regret this decision on the day of my blood test, but oh well. Gives me something else to worry about, right?

Tonsillitis... fantastic ._.

Hiya peoples :3,

Hope you guys are alright..can't wait for the summer holidays!! But unfortunately I've got Tonsillitis, this normally happens before we break up from school or for a half term, I always seem to come down with something and this time its Tonsillitis, last time is the Norovirus (or however you spell it!) Its official, I feel like crap ._. levels are either really high or really low. Keep going hot or cold and my temperature hit 38.4 last night :( didn't sleep very well and feel terrible this morning. Went to my GP yesterday and he prescribed me with Co-codamol and Penicillin to take 4 times a day. So I'm all drugged up, and hopefully my temperature will go down soon and this horrible Tonsillitis will go quickly :)

Have a great last week at school!!

Holidays.

Hiya people :3,

So I've been on holiday in Spain, and unfortunately I have to go home tomorrow :( !! I've had a great time, buts it has been as if I wasn't a diabetic!! I'll explain;

A couple of days ago I didnt inject at all only for my breakfast. I went to the beach and had sandwiches, cookies and full fat coke and lemonades and levels were perfectly normal!! After that I went to a sleepover and mum told me not to inject, just pig out and enjoy myself..so I did. I had 3 cookies, lots of popcorn, a coke float and 3 jelly babies. Guess what my levels were????? ..... 6.2!!!!!! I was laughing so hard because I just couldn't believe it :P

Topped my self up with more jelly babies. At about 3am when we were finally finished with watching movies tested again and my levels were 5.5 -.- haha! SO had a nutrigrain bar and 3 jelly babies, so I wouldn't have to get up at 5 o'clock and test myself again...and went to sleep. Guess what my levels were??

In the morning woke up for breakfast, and I was 4.4 ._.

My levels have settled down a little now, but we had to reduce my Lantus down to 14 from 15 just so I would have slightly higher levels, and it has seemed to work. I've been waking up on 6-7's in the mornings and going to bed on 8-9's :) When I get back home I'll probably put my Lantus back up to 15 again, but for now I'm good :D

How are your levels coping in the hot weather? (Heard that the UK was having great summer time temperatures *woop woop* )

Today I am not a diabetic!!!!

Hiya people's,

Weird day today with my levels!! Woke up early on 4.1, had two jelly babies. I tried going back to sleep so I tested again 10mins later and I was 4.2! So I went downstairs got two biscuits and waited 10 mins and tested again 5.1 .. So I got in the shower got dressed for school, when it came to breakfast I was 5 ._. So I had some toast (which I don't normally have for brekkie) with-out an injection.

At school around about half ten we have a break so I tested my self and I was 6.8 had a carb free snack and went to class. At lunch tested 6.4, could be asked to inject so I had a fruit bar (should've been about 2.5units) and thought I'd inject when I get home.

When I did get home I was 3.9?!! Hahah couldn't believe it! Had no injections all day and levels have been perfect :3 pretty proud hahhahaahah! Had my first injection today at dinner and injected 3units, so I've had 3units today...unbelievable!! Can see why my endo thinks I'm "probable type one"!!! :)

Does this ever happen to you? Of is it just me :S I must been honeymooning quite strongly!!

I actually give up!!

Hi everyone,

As you know I've been trying to lose weight, and it really just ISN'T happening, and I'm fed up. I've tried a no carb diet, and I've put on weight AGAIN. So I just give up! I don't know what else to try. I actually hate Type One, because even though everyone says it doesn't restrict you from anything, well it sort of does. Because it is so much more harder to lose weight. I don't normally write negative posts but I'm just so angry with myself because I'm trying everything I can to feel better about my self and its not working.

Sorry for the rant..

Hungry hypos!

Heyyy guys!

How you all doing? The name of this post made me laugh actually because when I was thinking about writing this post I kept on thinking of 'hungry hippos' hahaha :')

But anyways on a serious note, I've been feeling hungry quite a lot lately, and its super annoying because I'm trying to lose weight at the moment, and the last thing I want to do is constantly eat! So I was getting really curious to why I was feeling hungry quite frequently so I tested my sugars when I felt hungry and my levels would be low. So I was wondering if I had sort of developed a new symptom to feeling low? But I double checked with the Type One Teens group, and I wasn't alone! Quite a lot of people feel hungry when they go low too. So if any of you were wondering why you're feeling hungry quite a lot, just test your self and check, because you never know you might have the same problem as me. Just thought I'd let you guys know just in case you hadn't heard of Hungry Hypos before, because I certainly hadn't neither had my mum.

Have  great weekend followers :)
